Who Am I?

Bar

When I try to define this person who is me,
I experience contradictions.
I do not always know who I am.
The more I understand about myself,
The more I realize how little actual self-knowledge I have.
I must admit, I can easily fool myself
Into misconceptions and delusions about myself
If, for one moment, I believe I have all the answers.
In my confusion and uncertainty, I cry out to God,
"Who am I?"
In the darkness, God answers,
"You belong to Me. You are not alone.
Your true nature is Mine. It is unique and vast,
For you are made in My image and likeness.
You are like the moving waters,
Forever changing, yet, ever the same.
Risk all that you have known about yourself in your
ignorance and fear, and come to Me.
I will give you rest, a place to lay your head.
Only then, will you know how much I love you.
I will not lead you into darkness,
for, even in darkness, I will provide a Light for you."
